The tremendous growth in the insurance-linked securities (ILS) market and in particular catastrophe bonds, begs the question: are we close to a tipping point for this asset class?
2013 has already recorded the highest level of cat bond issuance since 2007. We expect total outstandings will soon top $20 billion.
