ACE appoints Eurasia general counsel

ACE Group has appointed Susan McDonald to the role of regional general counsel for Eurasia and Africa as it continues to build its management team.

Currently legal and compliance manager for MENA, in her new role McDonald will be responsible for overseeing the legal and compliance functions of ACE’s operations in Eurasia and Africa.

McDonald will continue to be based in Dubai. She will report to Giles Ward, regional president for Eurasia and Africa at ACE and to Kenneth Underhill, general counsel for ACE in Europe, Eurasia and Africa.

Ward said: “Our operations in Eurasia and Africa span a number of countries and regions – with widely diverging legal and regulatory traditions and frameworks. Susan, with her substantial legal and insurance industry experience, will help ensure that we fully comply with all local laws and that our local teams are able to properly manage the demands of a constantly evolving regulatory environment and a growing business.”
