ACE appoints power head for Asia

ACE Group has appointed James Naylor to the role of power generation and utilities head for Asia.

He will be based in Singapore and will report to Michael Frazer, manager of energy and technical risks, Asia Pacific.

Naylor joins ACE from an international placement broker for property, casualty and terrorism insurance. Over the last three years, he has headed up the construction, power and utilities unit acting as the key client liaison based in Singapore.

Naylor has been in the insurance industry since the early eighties, joining various UK-based companies in positions of increasing responsibility over the course of his 33 year career.

After working for ten years with an insurance brokerage in London, Naylor accepted a position in Singapore in 2006 to provide local expertise in construction and natural resources. During 2006-2011 in this client-facing role, he worked with new and existing clients in South Asia on their construction, power and renewable energy risk management needs.

Frazer said: “We are fortunate to attract talent like James to ACE who has been exposed to a breadth of risks in power and utilities as well as construction. Given the calibre of our team of professionals and the vast opportunity which the region provides, we are keen to bring to bear ACE’s full range of product capabilities for the power, utilities, energy and construction industry. Our regional expertise for this sector combines the best of local acumen with global industry depth to tailor seamless risk management solutions for our clients.”
