ACE boosts medical expertise

ACE has appointed Jim Smith as medical malpractice product manager and chief underwriting officer for ACE Overseas General (AOG).

In this role, Smith will oversee underwriting execution of ACE’s medical liability insurance business in all retail markets globally outside North America. As well as overseeing existing portfolios, he will also drive targeted expansion of ACE’s global footprint into new markets – with a focus on emerging economies.

Smith will report to Marc Poliquin, senior vice president, professional indemnity product head, within the financial lines division of ACE Overseas General. He will also help support the initiatives led by Caroline Clouser, executive vice president and practice leader, ACE USA medical risk group and chair of the global medical professional liability board.
