Ace poaches Zurich exec

Ace has hired Marcel Van Peenen as regional professional indemnity manager for Asia.

He will be based in Singapore and report to Stanley Wong, regional head of financial lines, Asia-Pacific and matrix report to Marc Poliquin, senior vice president, professional indemnity product head, from the financial lines division of ACE overseas general.

Van Peenen is tasked with driving the growth of Ace’s professional indemnity business, including underwriting, product development, production and distribution, across the region.

He joins Ace from Zurich Insurance, where most recently, he was manager, professional lines, Asia, overseeing its professional liability portfolio for the region since 2010. Prior to that, Van Peenen worked for several companies in the Netherlands in underwriting positions.
