Advent builds energy division with Liberty hire

Lloyd’s insurer Advent has appointed Richard Waller, formerly of Liberty International, to lead its energy division.

Waller joins from Liberty International’s Singapore office where he was responsible for energy and marine in Asia.

He will report to Advent’s recently appointed chief underwriting officer (CUO) and active underwriter William Beveridge.

Waller will be working with Kevin Regan and Sam Hui to support existing operations and identify new opportunities for growth.

Beveridge said: “We continue to attract very high-quality people, which demonstrates our progress in building a successful business, focussed on specialty lines, with strong technical underwriting and market leading expertise.”
