Advent launches bespoke underwriting unit; hires three from Beazley

Advent, a Lloyd’s insurer, has established a bespoke products underwriting unit, let by Paul Driver and Philip Misztela, and supported by Stuart Cowen.

The team will report to William Beveridge, chief underwriting officer at Advent, and will be responsible for developing Advent’s bespoke portfolio.

Driver, Misztela and Cowen all join from Beazley, having served as underwriter.

John Marks, who founded the portfolio more than 20 years ago, has been working with Advent as a consultant and will continue to provide pro-active guidance and support.

Beveridge said, “I am very pleased to announce the launch of our new Bespoke Products underwriting unit. It is a high calibre team which joins with an excellent track record, leading market reputation and extensive product knowledge and experience.
