AIG appoints EVP

American International Group (AIG) has appointed Philip Fasano to the newly created role of executive vice president and chief information officer.

Fasano, who will join AIG in October, will report to AIG president and chief executive officer, Peter Hancock.

Fasano joins AIG from Kaiser Permanente, where he was executive vice president and chief information officer. He previously served as chief information officer at several high-profile financial services firms over the course of his 30-year career.

At AIG, Fasano will be responsible for oversight of the company’s global information technology, including reviewing and updating technology systems and platforms, along with data management and security.

“I am delighted to welcome Phil to AIG,” said Hancock. “Phil is a leader in the field of information technology and has an extensive track record of improving systems and data management while creating innovative solutions to complex issues at global companies.

“I am confident Phil’s leadership and knowledge will help us achieve our vision of providing a truly seamless technology experience to our customers, distribution partners, and employees.”
