AIG makes Chubb hire to 'tell the story of the company's next chapter'

American International Group (AIG) has recruited property/casualty insurer Chubb's Anita Williamson as global head of employee communications.

Williamson was most recently the vice president of global internal communications at Chubb where she led company-wide employee engagement and communications programmes executed in the 54 countries where Chubb has operations. She also served as a strategic communications advisor for Chubb's business unit and functional leadership.

Prior to joining Chubb, Williamson served as SVP, corporate communications at Marsh where her responsibilities included digital internal and external communications and strategic communications for senior management.

In her new role at AIG, Williamson will develop and execute global programmes to strengthen employee engagement and align with AIG’s global business goals. She will report directly to Cindy Leggett-Flynn, senior vice president, chief communications officer.

"Anita is a highly experienced communications leader in the insurance industry and we are thrilled that she is joining our team," said Leggett-Flynn. "Anita has a proven track record of developing employee programmes and using digital and social communications platforms to drive meaningful change in an organisation. This is a very exciting time at AIG, and she will play an important role in telling the story of the company’s next chapter."

Williamson commented: "I am pleased to join this great organisation and to have a role in making AIG better than it has ever been. I look forward to working with Cindy and my new colleagues throughout the organisation to foster a fluid and multi-directional communications environment, one that advances the corporate strategy while also making the employee experience more engaging and professionally fulfilling."
