AJG boosts regional management teams

Arthur J. Gallagher (AJG) has created two new regional management roles in the Midlands, in what is now its largest UK regional hub.

With the UK retail division of AJG focused on the effective integration of the former Oval and Giles businesses, Steve Fletcher has been promoted to regional sales and marketing director.

Gary Carroll assumes a more extensive geographic remit in his appointment as regional client service director.

Both will report to Peter Matthews, regional managing director for the Midlands.

Fletcher joined AJG in September 2011 as corporate account director shortly after the acquisition of Heath Lambert. He has worked in a range of major UK insurance markets with positions in both regional and Lloyd’s insurance brokers, including an earlier six-year stint at CE Heath.

In his new role, Fletcher will lead sales growth and expansion for the business across the Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester and Nottingham offices by co-ordinating and deploying the newly combined regional resources of the operation.

Carroll was previously a founder and partner of Midland Risk Management, a Birmingham-based broking business which he established and ran for more than 25 years before selling to Giles in 2008, becoming Birmingham branch manager.
