AJG lures Aon Benfield exec
Arthur J Gallagher (AJG) International, the UK-based international brokerage division of AJG, has appointed Paul Cousins as managing director of specialty within its binding authority and facility division.
In the new role, Cousins will take responsibility for managing the division’s international and specialty client base while developing and delivering new, innovative capacity solutions for its managing general agent (MGA) and coverholder customers.
He will join later this year from Aon Benfield Fac, where most recently served as global head of strategy and business development. He has held this position since 2009 following the 2008 launch of its alternative solutions unit which Cousins joined Aon to lead.
Chris Hardcastle, managing director of AJG’s binding authority and facility division, said: “We continue to develop our offering to both customers and markets, recognising that the delegated authority space must evolve.
“Investing in the best talent is a huge part of this and securing someone of Paul’s calibre further demonstrates our determination to deliver the excellence and innovation clients expect of a specialist delegated authorities broker. We very much look forward to welcoming Paul to the team.”
