Alliant taps risk expert to strengthen energy and marine group
Insurance product and service provider Alliant Insurance has appointed Louisiana-based marine specialist Jan Nowak as first vice president to strengthen its energy and marine group.
Nowak is one of Gulf Coast's leading marine insurance experts, the California-based insurer said in a statement. His addition to the team is in line with the company's strategy to expand the energy and marine group in the region.
Prior to joining Alliant, Nowak was managing director and principal with a regional energy and marine insurance brokerage. He joins Alliant with over 37 years of insurance brokerage experience, having worked with vessel operators, shipyards, and other connected industries.
"The Gulf Coast represents a significant growth area for Alliant, and having Jan on our team will provide clients with access to one of the region's most experienced marine risk experts," said Tom Corbett, chairman and CEO of Alliant.
"With marine exposures constantly shifting, we remain committed to providing strength and stability to our clients no matter what their business objective."
The company said that it has also bolstered its marine practice through new appointments in Portland and Houston, and to its power, utility and renewable energy divisions in the Northeast.
