Allianz expands environment liability team to meet increasing demand for cover

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) has expanded its environmental impairment liability (EIL) team with senior hires in the North American and Mediterranean regions.

In North America, Ken Baker has been appointed as a dedicated claims specialist in New York, and brings nearly a decade of technical claims experience, having most recently worked at AIG.

Nicole Baker and Steve Tagert both join as executive underwriters, based in Houston and Philadelphia, respectively.

Tagert has more than 18 years of insurance experience, and has held senior roles in underwriting and both product line and general management with AIG and XL Catlin.

Baker has almost ten years of experience in EIL, and also joins from AIG.

In the Mediterranean, Dámaso Alvarez Peña has been appointed as head of EIL for the region, and will be based in Madrid.

Alvarez joins from Chubb, where he served as regional environmental risk manager with responsibility over Iberia and Eastern Europe.
