An array of top speakers unveiled for PCI

With more than 1,000 insurers, reinsurers and brokers all in one place, the PCI annual meeting is the largest gathering of property-casualty insurance professionals in North America, and this year is no exception.

The event, which aims to provide attendees with advice and knowledge from expert speakers, including major insurance company leaders, on politics and the economy, has lined up a host of worthy participants.

Robert Gates, who served as secretary of defence under presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, will present candid insights on global politics and world affairs, as well as US intelligence and defence strategies, leadership and the global challenges of the 21st century. Gates also served for 26 years in the National Security Council and the CIA, where he was director from 1991 to 1993.

Luke Williams, a globally recognised authority on innovation leadership, who works with organisations on challenges ranging from creating new products and services, to transforming organisational processes and behaviours, will also take to the stage.

Williams is professor of innovation and executive director of the Berkley Entrepreneurship Centre at New York University’s Stern School of Business, and in his presentation he will address thriving in an era of constant change.

Other speakers not to be missed include Larry Sabato, election analyst and founder of the University of Virginia Centre for Politics, who is said to be the only man in the country who can predict the winners, with 99 percent accuracy, of every congressional, senatorial and gubernatorial race.

Finally, Neil Howe, a historian, economist and demographer, will discuss social generations and generational cycles in American history.

There will also be various other seminars, including a reinsurance panel debate which is sure to raise some interesting views.
