Antares Asia hires Chubb and Allied World execs for underwriting team

Antares Asia, a member of the QIC Group, has expanded its underwriting team.

Rebecca Ng has been appointed as marine underwriter and Sharon Lansdell-Clarke joins as financial lines underwriter. They will both report to Li Shan Yeo, chief executive officer, Antares Asia.

Ng brings nearly two decades’ experience in the Asia marine insurance market to Antares Asia.

In her role, she will be responsible for the development of the business’s marine portfolio, underwriting a suite of products including cargo, hull and liability. She joins from Chubb Group where as senior underwriter (marine hull) for the Asia Pacific, she was responsible for the profitable growth of the business’s marine hull portfolio. Ng, has also held senior underwriting roles at Federal Insurance Company and RSA.

Lansdell-Clarke is tasked with building Antares Asia’s financial lines portfolio, which will include bankers blanket bonds for financial institutions, professional liability and commercial directors and officers liability.

Previously, she served as assistant vice president, portfolio manager, professional lines, at Allied World’s Singapore branch. Prior to this, Lansdell-Clarke held a series of senior and managerial broking roles across Asia Pacific including at Willis, JLT and Aon Risk Services.
