Antares poaches RSA exec for marine underwriter role
Antares, a managing agent at Lloyd’s and a member of the QIC Group, has appointed Daniel Sanchez as marine hull underwriter, reporting to John Potter, marine hull, energy and liability account manager.
Sanchez brings nearly two decades of marine underwriting and maritime experience to Antares. He joins the firm from RSA where he served as senior hull underwriter in London. In this role, alongside ensuring the profitable growth of the marine hull account, he was tasked with co-ordinating its marine strategy in Latin America.
Prior to this, Sanchez held marine hull underwriting roles at Generali Global UKB and Banco Vitalicio.
Joe Battle, active underwriter at Antares, said: “Daniel is an excellent addition to our leading marine team. He is a highly talented underwriter whose contacts, experience and proven track record in Latin American markets will enhance our capabilities.
“We have identified significant scope to broaden our presence in these burgeoning territories and Daniel is the ideal candidate to spearhead this expansion. I am very pleased to welcome him to Antares.”
