ANV unveils MPL team
ANV Underwriters, the managing general underwriter (MGU) segment of speciality insurance group ANV, has launched a North America miscellaneous professional liability (MPL) product and team.
The team will be led by John Birkhofer and will underwrite MPL for the US market out of ANV’s New Jersey office.
Under his leadership, the team will focus on MPL with an emphasis on middle-market primary risks as well as follow-form excess liability for both middle market and larger accounts.
Before joining ANV, he underwrote MPL as well as cyber liability, management liability and crime insurance with Markel, Lexington and Chubb.
Peter McKeegan, director of US financial lines for ANV, said: “MPL forms a significant part of the account portfolio for most our wholesale brokers.
“Being able to service the needs of our brokers with both management liability and professional liability products within one group has been a main objective of ours in making ANV a key specialty lines carrier in the US market.”
He added: “John brings experience and innovation of MPL products. We are very pleased to be adding his expertise to our current group of products offered by ANV here in the US.”
