Argo lures Sportscover exec

Lloyd’s insurer Argo International has launched a contingency business line with the appointment of David Boyle as contingency underwriter.

He takes up his position with immediate effect and will report to John Moffatt, head of specialty.

Boyle joins from Sportscover Syndicate 3334 where as class underwriter for its contingency account he was responsible for the development of a profitable book of business. Prior to this, David worked as a contingency underwriter in Munich Re’s London office, with a focus on large scale events. In this role he was also tasked with the development of its sports personal accident account.

John Moffatt said: “The contingency market is an area in which we have identified significant potential for expansion, which dovetails with our existing expertise and growing suite of specialist products. David has focused on this area throughout his career and developed a body of experience, as well as a network of contacts, which will be invaluable in developing our new offering. I am very pleased to welcome him to Argo.”
