Barbican Managing Agency appoints chief executive

Barbican Group Holdings has appointed Ken Curtis as chief executive of Barbican Managing Agency effective from September 2 2013.

The newly created role will see Curtis assume overall management responsibility for Barbican’s Lloyd’s Managing Agency. Curtis will report to Jon Godfray, chief operating officer of Barbican Group.

Curtis brings extensive Lloyd’s experience to the role and is a well-known senior executive in the market. He has held senior finance and management positions within the London market prior to joining Barbican, most recently as chief financial officer of Chaucer.

“This is an important appointment for the firm,” said David Reeves, chief executive officer of Barbican Group. “To have someone of Ken’s calibre marks another important step in the development of our Lloyd’s operations. He has a wealth of relevant experience and his expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow the business.”
