Specialist insurer Beazley has appointed James Gray as specialty lines treaty underwriter in London. He will underwrite working layer US excess and catastrophe excess of loss contracts, as well as work on Beazley’s cyber and employment practices liability products.
Gray has worked in the London re/insurance market as a US property & casualty (P&C) underwriter since 2010, and prior to that as a P&C broker. In his previous role at Ark Syndicate Management he worked closely with the speciality liability programmes delegated underwriting team, assisting in the development of the team’s cyber liability offering.
“We are delighted that James has joined the team. James’ experience working on US casualty treaty business both as an underwriter and broker, enable him to bring additional expertise and depth to our underwriting team in London. In addition, his cyber liability product development experience will help us to continue to build our embedded products,” said Joanne McCann, specialty treaty focus group leader.
