Beazley strengthens Asia presence

Specialist insurer Beazley has strengthened its underwriting presence in Singapore with the secondment of a senior speciality lines underwriter.

This is part of its continuing strategy to develop business in Asia through its hubs in Singapore and Hong Kong, the company said.

Senior specialty lines underwriter Gordon Lam will be seconded to Beazley's Singapore office to expand the company's local product range to include management liability and professional indemnity product lines. This business will also continue to be underwritten in Hong Kong.

Beazley's Hong Kong office was established in 1997 and focuses on underwriting marine cargo as well as specialty lines business.

The Singapore office, established in 2007, focuses on engineering and construction risks as well as property, political risks, trade credit, terrorism, treaty, marine cargo and, henceforth, specialty lines.
