Berkshire Hathaway Specialty hires former Chubb claims exec

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company (BHSI) has expanded its Northern European operation, appointing Ulrich Kremer as senior vice president (SVP) of claims.

Kremer has had nearly 16 years of experience as a lawyer and insurance before BHSI. He recently held the position of claims department manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at Chubb Insurance Company of Europe SE.

Prior to that, he was general counsel and manager, product development, and before that, legal counsel and manager, product development at Chubb.

In the beginning of his career, he was an attorney at Vogel and Turner, and at the law offices of Schindler and Kremer.

“Ulrich brings to BHSI extensive experience in both the legal and strategic aspects of managing complex claims,” said Gregor Koehler, President of BHSI.

“Under his capable leadership, we look forward to expanding our claims team and demonstrating to customers our commitment to excellence in claims handing.”
