Brazil has appointed a new head of Susep, its insurance industry watchdog. Luciano Portal Santanna’s departure was made official in a decree signed by President Dilma Rousseff. He had been in the position for two and a half years.
He has been replaced by Roberto Westenberger, former partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and a highly regarded executive in the market.
Susep is responsible for oversight of the insurance, open private pension, annuity and reinsurance sectors in the country.
