Brentacre, a specialist Swansea-based insurance broker, has appointed Lauren Grove as business development manager.
The firm said the appointment will help the firm branch out into the general commercial insurance sector for the first time.
Grove will be spearheading the company's growth into commercial insurance.
Brentacre specialises in the insurance of classic cars, modified cars and other types of unusual vehicles and has delegated underwriting authority from UK insurers including Highway, Markerstudy, Ageas and Canopius .
Brentacre said the new hire, alongside a significant investment in its IT infrastructure, will enable it to extend its offering to insure commercial buildings including restaurants, businesses, let property and also high-end residential properties across the UK.
John White, managing director of Brentacre, said: "As a business, we pride ourselves on giving customers a very personal service - they can speak directly to highly-trained experts who have the power to make decisions quickly. We believe there is a need for this hands-on type of service in the commercial insurance sector.
"We know our expansion will be a gradual process but we wanted to hire someone with experience and drive who could really help us push it forward. So we are delighted to welcome Lauren to the team at Brentacre.”
He added: "Lauren is charged with developing and expanding the commercial side of the business, firstly within South Wales and then nationally. She will also be fully versed on the other parts of the business as well, so she has a full understanding of the culture of Brentacre and everything we offer."
Grove commented: "I look forward to driving results and increasing the awareness of the commercial side of the business.”
