Canopius promotes Manning to group COO

Specialist insurer Canopius has announced Steve Manning’s move to become group chief operating officer.

Prior to his promotion, Manning was managing director of Canopius Managing Agents Limited. The company also announced the creation of two new strategic business units, Global Property and Global Specialty.

These will be headed up by Mike Duffy and Steve Gargrave respectively. “We have expanded our group executive to reflect the increasing scale of our group and to recognise the depth and strength of our underwriting and management talent,” said Inga Beale, group chief executive of Canopius.

“These are important changes and will help secure the further growth and ambitions of Canopius.”
