Catlin appoints London execs
Catlin has appointed Paul Greensmith and Jonathan Gale as chief underwriting officers for the London underwriting hub.
Greensmith, who joins from RSA, will be responsible for insurance. Gale, who has been an underwriting director for Catlin’s London hub since 2008, will be responsible for reinsurance.
They will report to Andrew McMellin, who will become chief executive officer (CEO) of Catlin’s London hub during the first half of 2015. Andrew is currently CEO of the US hub.
Nick Burkinshaw, who currently serves as chief underwriting officer of Catlin’s London hub, will assume a new role in early 2015. He will take a break before assuming his new responsibilities.
Greensmith most recently served as global specialty lines director -UK & Western Europe and group risk managing director.
Gale has been an underwriting director for Catlin’s London hub since 2008 and has served as deputy active underwriter of the Catlin Syndicate. He joined Catlin in 2002 in London to underwrite the medical malpractice and specialty casualty reinsurance account before moving to Bermuda in early 2004 as underwriting director for Catlin Bermuda.
