Chaucer hires risk engineering head
Chaucer, the specialist Lloyd’s insurance group, has appointed a former Torus Insurance practice leader as the new head of risk engineering within its energy division.
Athithan Gnanendran becomes head of Risk Engineering for the Energy Division of Chaucer Syndicate 1084.
Gnanendran was most recently engineering practice leader at Torus Insurance, with responsibility for risk assessment and underwriting product development for exploration and production enterprises. Before this, Gnanendran was a senior consultant and engineer in the energy sector. Gnanendran is a member of the American Petroleum Institute Structural Committee and the Oil, Petrochemical and Energy Risks Association.
John Fowle, active underwriter of Syndicate 1084 at Chaucer, said: “I am delighted to welcome Athith to our Energy Division. His exceptional energy sector engineering and insurance expertise and broad experience will be invaluable to our clients”.
Gnanendran added: “I look forward to working with the Energy Division at Chaucer to help develop their strong energy portfolio.”
