Chaucer to open Miami office in Q4
Specialist Lloyd’s insurance group Chaucer will open an office in Miami, Florida during the fourth quarter of 2014 to develop Latin American business for Chaucer Syndicate 1084.
Uwe Fischer, region development director for Latin America, will relocate from Buenos Aires to lead the new office. He will be joined by property facultative underwriter Alejandro Ferrin.
Fischer has many years of experience as a reinsurance underwriter in Latin America and with his team will build on existing portfolio and client relationships to develop business throughout the region.
The new office will extend Chaucer’s international operations while supporting business in the rapidly expanding Latin American market. Chaucer will close its office in Buenos Aires.
Andrew Voke, head of production at Chaucer Syndicate 1084, said: "Miami is growing as a hub for Latin American business and we believe that our new office will be a positive addition to this successful market."
Fischer added: "This is an important step for Chaucer’s business in Latin America. Having initially explored the region’s potential from our office in Buenos Aires, I am now excited at the opportunity provided by our new office in Miami to develop our business."
