Chubb appoints environmental manager

Chubb Insurance Company of Europe (Chubb) has appointed David Barr as European environmental manager.

Barr joined Chubb in April 2013 as the deputy European environmental manager. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at Willis and then Marsh and 13 years in various environmental consultancy roles.

Fred Shurbaji, Chubb European commercial manager, said: “I am delighted we have been able to appoint someone of David Barr’s calibre to this role. David will be responsible for growing our environmental business across Europe.

“Environmental insurance is a specialist area and Chubb is one of a limited number of carriers which provide this product. It is important for all companies to consider their environmental risks and exposures; even more so for multinational companies dealing with different national and trans-national laws and regulations. Our ability to offer this product fits very well with our offering for multinational businesses.”
