Chubb appoints for life science team in UK and Ireland
Insurer Chubb has expanded its life science team in the UK and Ireland to further build its specialty casualty insurance capabilities for middle-market and multinational businesses across the region.
Stephen Barr, currently casualty underwriter for Chubb in Scotland, has been promoted to the role of Northern England and Scotland senior life science underwriter. He will be responsible for driving the development of Chubb’s life science portfolio across the company's North of England and Scotland business region.
Barr has held a series of underwriting positions with Chubb, and previously with AIG. In his new role, Barr will be based in Glasgow, reporting to Andy Macfarlane, regional manager for Chubb in Scotland, and to Scott McFarlane, life science manager in the UK and Ireland.
