Validus Re has appointed Kean D. Driscoll as chief executive officer.
Driscoll’s former role was chief underwriting officer, and his promotion is subject to approval by the Bermuda Department of Immigration.
Several others were given promotions too. These included Jeff M. Clements, currently head of US property and specialty underwriting at Validus Re, who has been appointed chief underwriting officer.
Paul D. Manders, currently executive vice president of marine underwriting at Validus Re, will now be head of speciality underwriting.
Chris L. Silvester, currently senior vice president of US property underwriting at Validus Re, has been promoted to executive vice president and head of US property underwriting.
Commenting on the management changes, Ed Noonan, chairman and chief executive officer of Validus Holdings, said: “We congratulate Kean Driscoll and his colleagues at Validus Re on their new roles. Kean, Jeff and Paul were part of the original underwriting team at the time we formed Validus in 2005 and were instrumental in merging cutting edge analytic expertise with underwriting excellence in building our reinsurance business.
"Chris joined us soon afterwards in 2006 and has been instrumental in shaping our North American portfolio and market position. We are fortunate to have such a deep bench of talented executives.”
