DUAL appoints property CUO
DUAL, the underwriting arm of the Hyperion Insurance Group, has appointed Ellen O’Connor in a newly created role as chief underwriting officer, property for DUAL commercial.
She will be based in New York and report to Justin Tweedie, chief executive of DUAL commercial’s US operations.
O’Connor had 17 years with Seneca Ins. Co. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Crum and Forster). In that role she started and managed the inland marine and excess and surplus property operations, eventually taking responsibility for those same operations with the parent company.
Prior to Seneca, O’Connor worked at the Hartford Insurance Co where she managed the NYC inland and ocean marine operations.
Tweedie said: “We are excited to have Ellen on board. With over 25 years in the excess and surplus and inland marine business, she brings a proven track record to DUAL in these key lines of business. We look forward to diversifying our property products, which will add value to our clients and trading partners”.
