Ed taps Willis director to expand property/casualty division

Ed, the broker formerly known as Cooper Gay, has appointed Namik Gulsun as head of international property and casualty.

Gulsun takes up his role with immediate effect, and will report to CEO of specialty Chris Bonard. In his new role, he will work alongside James Venton, head of US property/casualty.

He joins Ed from Willis Towers Watson, where as an executive director he served as head of Central and Eastern Europe including Turkey and CIS in the D&F Europe team under the P&C division. Gulsun began his broking career at Aon Benfield.

Bonard said: "Namik is an excellent addition to our senior team and will play a key part in our international growth. Recognising that individual markets require individual expertise and understanding is a key part of our strategy and central to the differentiation of Ed's offering.

"Namik brings proven expertise, a track record of putting client's interests first and in-depth knowledge of some of our key growth markets. His is the latest in a series of appointments which emphasise the calibre of people who, along with our existing team of specialists, will quickly separate us from our peers. I am very pleased to welcome him to the team."

Gulsun added: "Over the past year Ed has become viewed as a modernising and disruptive force in the broking sector. I am delighted to be joining a business where there is a clear ambition and strategy to do things differently and the scope to make a genuine difference to both the company and perhaps our industry as a whole. I am delighted to have this opportunity."
