Everest Re lures senior AIG exec

Reinsurer Everest Re has appointed senior AIG executive Marty Scherzer as head of its structured solution unit.

Based in New York, he will be responsible for the structured solution capabilities across the Everest Group.

Scherzer most recently served as president of AIG’s alternative risk solutions unit. Within AIG he spent more than 14 years in a variety of non-traditional areas, including senior management positions in risk finance, global risk solutions, multinational, and alternative risk solutions.

Prior to AIG, Scherzer worked at Marsh & McLennan Companies where he was managing director and head of origination and structuring in the enterprise risk division.
