Former Bluefin and Chubb heads partner with Jeremy Guscott on new broking venture

The former chairman and joint CEO of Bluefin and an experienced executive who has previously worked for Chubb and AIG have joined forced to launch an innovative platform that will help brokers launch their own businesses.

Vizion Insurance Brokers has been launched by Chris Blackham, the former chairman and joint CEO of Bluefin, and John Sims, who worked for Chubb and AIG. They have teamed up with former rugby player Jeremy Guscott, who takes the role of development director, and Trevor Davies a partner at law firm Kennedys.

The venture will provide a regulated platform for broking entrepreneurs who have their clients, ideas, equity and want to run their own businesses.

"The fact that, as a team, we have a deep knowledge and understanding of our industry and the challenges facing brokers means we can offer a lot more than say a bank or venture capitalist. We are determined to collaborate as true partners with those that join Vizion," said chairman Chris Blackham.

Managing director Sims added: “We decided some time ago that an opportunity presented itself to build a home for brokers who are frustrated with working in an environment where their endeavours are not recognised or appropriately rewarded.

"We are already attracting interests from all sectors including commercial as well as high net worth and property owners.”

Former England rugby player Guscott added: "I’ve been involved in world-class and high performing teams most of my adult life. Joining John Chris and Trevor will continue the theme."
The venture has been launched currently with three partners on board, George Seatter, Russell Sessions and Jonathan Topple.
