Gallagher hires Wade after JLT split

Arthur J. Gallagher International has hired Vyvienne Wade, who suddenly left JLT recently, after more than 25 years as international commercial director.

Wade will join the executive of Arthur J. Gallagher International on September 9 2013. She will spearhead an international growth drive at the broker with responsibility for driving and delivering international growth, by identifying and developing opportunities in all territories outside the UK and US.

With a focus that will span from Asia Pacific to Latin America and across Europe, this new strategic role will examine both retail and wholesale broking opportunities as well as potential  underwriting acquisitions to maximise profitable growth.

Wade will report directly to David Ross, CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher International, and work closely with John Durkin, MD of International Advisory, and John Hastings-Bass, chairman of Asia Pacific as well as other members of the executive and functional business heads.

Wade, a qualified barrister, was JLT’s longest serving executive director. In a 26-year career, she was a plc director of JLT Group from 2002 to 2013, CEO of Latin America, chairman of insurance/captive management, group general counsel and latterly chairman of Europe.
