Gen Re reshuffles holding company

Gen Re has made a number of senior appointments at General Re Corporation, the holding company of the group.

Damon Vocke has been promoted to president. Vocke is also chairman of USAU and Faraday and has responsibility for corporate claims.

Bill Gasdaska has been promoted to executive vice president. Gasdaska is the group chief financial officer (CFO).

Janice Englesbe, Morris Tooker and Dan Lyons were promoted to senior vice president. Englesbe is the group’s deputy chief risk officer. Tooker is the president of General Reinsurance Corporation and runs Gen Re’s global direct property casualty reinsurance business. Lyons is the group’s chief reserving actuary

Tad Montross, chairman and chief executive officer, said: “As general counsel, Damon has helped institute a culture of discipline, good governance and risk management. Bill has been a superb CFO and a core member of the senior management team and this is recognition of his many contributions.

In addition, Tom Coleman, vice president, senior account executive, will retire from Gen Re in February 2015. He is succeeded by Stephane Julien who has assumed a second vice president, account executive role with the marketing and account management team for individual life and critical illness products.

Julier will be based out of the Stamford, Connecticut office, reporting to Joe Atamaniuk, vice president, marketing and account management.
