Goldberg Segalla expands London practice
US law firm, Goldberg Segella has expanded its London practice with the addition of business litigation and professional liability units.
Darren Hanison has joined Goldberg Segalla as a partner in its London office. He will lead its Business and Commercial Litigation and Professional Liability teams in the UK.
Hanison was formerly a partner with Robin Simon Solicitors, a niche insurance law firm, where he led its reinsurance and technology, media, and entertainment practices.
Over the course of his two-decade career, he has represented a range of clients, including those dealing with the world’s largest software developer, household-name artists, and major media and technology enterprises, in multimillion-dollar matters concerning copyright, defamation, data breach and liability claims, among others.
“Goldberg Segalla’s growth in London is happening just like it is across our entire firm - driven by the demand of our clients,” said Richard Cohen, managing partner of the firm and chair of its Professional Liability Practice Group.
“The success and international recognition achieved by the insurance and reinsurance team that launched our London office opened many doors for us. Clients started asking us to handle a wider range of matters in the UK and Europe, including commercial disputes, contentious intellectual property matters, and defence of professional negligence claims. We’re proud to be able to serve those needs directly from London with the expansion of those practices here.”
Clive O’Connell, the founding partner of Goldberg Segalla’s London office, added: “Darren is a lawyer whose unique combination of experience, particularly in the commercial and professional liability sphere, meshed well with the firm’s vision and goals.”
