Ironshore adds financial institutions sector

Bermuda-based insurer Ironshore has opened a Financial Institutions unit which will be led by Christopher Brown of Ironshore’s Pembroke Managing Agency.

Based in London, Brown will be responsible for developing integrated insurance solutions for the sector in concert with Ironshore’s dedicated team of underwriting specialists.

Brown has more than twenty-five years of experience in underwriting risks within this specialty industry sector. He is the deputy active underwriter of Ironshore’s Lloyd’s Syndicate 4000 and is a board director of Pembroke Managing Agency, where he has played an integral role since its formation in 2004, and following the acquisition by Ironshore Inc. in 2008.

He began his career in 1985 and for ten years was a specialty lines broker in the London market. He has subsequently devoted more than nineteen years of his career to underwriting Financial Institutions in both the Lloyd’s and company markets.

“Ironshore’s vertical industry practice reflects our ongoing commitment to developing innovative insurance solutions to address risk in specific industry sectors that represent a strategic growth imperative to the Ironshore group of companies,” said Kevin Kelley, chief executive officer of Ironshore. “Chris’ recognised knowledge of Financial Institutions insurance offers brokers and clients a level of confidence in securing capacity and coverage from a global team of the highest standards.”
