Ironshore appoints Canada chairman

Ironshore International has appointed Paul Primiani as chairman of Ironshore Canada. He assumes the role from Mark Wheeler, chief executive officer of Ironshore International.

Primiani will join the management team of Dane Hambrook, managing director, Ironshore Canada, and Stephen Stewart, managing director, chief agent of Ironshore Insurance, as they continue to oversee the day to day operations of the company.

Most recently, he was executive vice president and chief risk officer of GCAN Insurance Company that was eventually acquired by RSA, where he continued to lead the large commercial/specialty portfolio for RSA Canada. Primiani also has held executive positions with international specialty companies, such as ACE, Reliance and AIG.
