Ironshore appoints chief claims officer for environmental unit
Bermuda-based insurer Ironshore has promoted Thomas Duggan as chief claims officer of its environmental unit, overseeing specialty market claims management and processes throughout its global platform.
Duggan will be based in Ironshore's New York office, reporting to president of global claims Mike Mitrovic.
Prior to the new role, Duggan was the unit's claims director. His past experience includes almost a decade with Zurich American Insurance Companies where he served in multiple capacities including team manager for environmental claims, claims counsel, and site pollution underwriter. Previously, he was a claims analyst for the environmental and financial institutions sectors with AIG.
"Tom has become an integral part of the environmental claims team and is intimately knowledgeable of the risk management and claims patterns of insureds within this specialist sector of the global insurance industry," said John O’Brien, chief executive officer of Ironshore Environmental.
"Tom’s appointment reflects our confidence in his professional abilities to continue to be responsive and forward-thinking in helping environmental parties address risk exposure and resolve claims in a timely, efficient manner."
