JLT Re boosts cyber with Cooper Gay exec

JLT Re has boosted its cyber reinsurance capabilities with the appointment of Chris Bennett as a partner in its London and international market division.

Bennett joins from Cooper Gay where he served as head of the UK treaty divisions and retro. Prior to this, he served as a director of AJ Gallagher UK.

Bradley Maltese, deputy chief executive officer (CEO) of UK & Europe, said: ”We are delighted that Chris has joined JLT Re, he is a great fit for our clients and our culture.

“Whilst Chris’ background and experience is firmly rooted in property D&F and retro reinsurance, over the past few years he has also developed specialist knowledge and a significant book of cyber reinsurance for Lloyd’s Syndicates. Cyber is a new, exciting and fast growing area of business and extending JLT Re’s strong specialty offering to include more cyber expertise presents great opportunities for us.”

Bennett added: “I am really excited about joining JLT Re and as cyber risk continues to be a hot topic for clients and brokers alike, this a great opportunity for me to build on my cyber experience supporting JLT Re’s growth in this area.”
