JLT Specialty expands its mergers and acquisitions group

JLT Specialty US, a platform of the specialty business advisory firm, JLT Group, has appointed Howard Rimerman as its senior vice president (VP) and Steven Smith as its VP, expanding its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) group.

Rimerman will be based in the New York office, where he will assist JLT’s corporate and private equity clients solve risk issues.

He has had over 30 years of experience as a commercial banker, investment banker and private equity investor.

Rimerman started his career in commercial banking at the Bank of America, he later transitioned into investment banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse.

Smith will be based in Los Angeles, where he will be an instrumental part of the M&A group west coast strategy.

He has had over 8 years of experience in the insurance brokerage industry, serving a network of private equity clients.

Prior to JLT, Smith served as VP of Marsh, private equity and M&A services.
