Kiln appoints senior accident & health underwriter

Kiln, the specialist insurance and reinsurance business which is part of the Tokio Marine group, has appointed Claudia Alaimo as senior accident & health underwriter for Europe.

Alaimo is a specialist in treaty business with more than 15 years’ experience in the insurance industry, the majority of which has been spent in the worldwide accident & health sector. Based in Frankfurt, she will write a broad range of specialist and bespoke accident & health risks across all European territories.

“Kiln is a dynamic company with a clear strategy for its European operation and I am thrilled to be joining the team,” Alaimo said. “I look forward to working much more closely with clients to provide flexible and individual service to meet their needs as well as developing niche products to address the growing demand for protection against emerging threats.”

Kiln has operated in Germany since 2010 and has grown its operation substantially in that time. It said demand for its specialist suite of products, including marine, property facultative, accident & health and special risks, has continued to increase steadily in Europe, enabling the team to expand its offices and the number of business lines it offers to the market.

Commenting on the appointment, Olivier Terlinden, regional managing director for Kiln in Europe, said: “This appointment is a further demonstration of our focus on providing specialist expertise that meets the needs of our clients, and of our increasing footprint in the important European market. I look forward to working with Claudia to deliver our strategy in the region.”
