Liberty Mutual expands commercial insurance with three appointments

Insurance firm Liberty Mutual has made three senior appointments to its commercial insurance operating unit.

Mike Fallon has been made president of national insurance, which helps large and specialised businesses solve complex risk management challenges, Steve McAnena has been appointed president of business insurance, which serves small and mid-size accounts and Tracy Ryan has been appointed chief claims officer.

Fallon joined Liberty Mutual in 1993 and most recently served as chief financial officer, Commercial Insurance. Liberty Mutual said his in-depth understanding of Commercial Insurance’s business and market dynamics will help him drive mutual success for National Insurance and its business partners and customers.

McAnena joined Liberty Mutual in 1993 and previously served as president of Liberty Mutual Benefits (LMB). His leadership experience in LMB, according to Liberty Mutual, combined with his diverse experience and track record in product and distribution, will help Business Insurance continue to cultivate already strong relationships with independent agents and brokers.

Ryan joined Liberty Mutual in 1994 and had most recently worked as chief product officer for commercial insurance.

Paul Condrin, president of Liberty Mutual commercial insurance, said: “Mike, Steve and Tracy bring great perspective to their respective operations and will continue building strong relationships with brokers, agents and customers, which is critical to our shared success.”
