Liberty Speciality hires Arch exec

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has appointed Elizabeth Fullerton-Rome to the newly-created role of chief risk officer.

Reporting to Nick Metcalf, president and managing director, Fullerton-Rome will take responsibility for LSM’s risk management and compliance functions.  She will also sit on LSM’s executive committee.

Fullerton-Rome joins from Arch Insurance Europe where she served on the managing committee and on the managing agency board of directors as the legal, regulatory and compliance officer.

Metcalf said: “As a business we need to understand and control our exposure to all forms of risk. Elizabeth will ensure this will continue to be achieved as our business grows. She has a strong reputation in the London insurance market. Her appointment will provide tangible enhancements to our executive committee’s analytical and strategic oversight of risk management.”

Fullerton-Rome added: “As LSM is now in the final phase of its integration process, this is an opportune moment to continue the strategic overview of the business’s relationship to risk management and compliance in all its forms. I’m delighted to be joining LSM at this stage and to be able to shape this new executive role.”
