Lloyd’s elects new members to council and franchise board

Lloyd’s of London has appointed new members to the Council of Lloyd’s and the market’s franchise board.

Gregory Fleming has been appointed as member of the Council and Patricia Jackson as an independent non-executive director of the franchise board. Both will serve an initial term of three years.

Fleming was most recently the president of wealth management and asset management at Morgan Stanley. Prior to that he was the president and chief operating officer of Merrill Lynch. He is currently a senior research scholar and distinguished visiting fellow at Yale Law School.

Fleming replaces Henrique Meirelles, who stepped down from his position on the Council in 2016.

Jackson is currently a senior advisor on risk governance and member of the global regulatory network at EY. Earlier she was the partner leading the EY financial regulatory practice across EMEIA (Europe, Middle East, India and Africa). She was also the head of the financial industry and regulatory division at the Bank of England.

Jackson will take up the position held previously by Claire Ighodaro who retired from the board in December 2016.

“Greg and Patricia will bring a vast amount of experience from the sharp end of the US and UK financial sectors,” said John Nelson, chairman of the Council of Lloyd’s.

“I would like to thank Henrique and Claire for their contributions to the Council and the Franchise Board over the years.”
