Lloyd’s makes three key appointments

Lloyd’s has made three senior appointments to the Lloyd’s Council and Lloyd’s franchise board.

Fred Hu, chairman of Primavera Capital Group, a China-based global investment firm, will join the Council. Between 1997 and 2010 Fred was with Goldman Sachs, latterly as a partner and chairman of greater China.

Joy Griffiths and Sean McGovern will join the franchise board.

Griffiths is currently global managing director, Experian Decision Analytics and chairman of Experian’s Asia Pacific region, including India.

McGovern has been with Lloyd’s since 1996, and was appointed director & general counsel with responsibility for Lloyd’s legal, regulatory and government affairs in 2002. Recently, he has taken overall responsibility for risk management at Lloyd’s.

John Nelson, Lloyd’s chairman, said: “I am absolutely delighted to be able to welcome Fred Hu as a member of the Council of Lloyd’s and Joy Griffiths as a non-executive member of the Lloyd’s franchise board. They bring with them a wealth of financial services experience and extensive specialist international knowledge.

“I am equally pleased that Sean McGovern has taken on the role of chief risk officer and will be joining the franchise board.”
