LOC strengthens team

Maritime consultancy group LOC Group has strengthened its team with two appointments.

John Quarrington has joined the company in London as group marine warranty surveying manager and Mark McGurran has been appointed to the Singapore office in the role of Asia regional hull and machinery co-ordinator.

Quarrington will support the group energy services director (Alex Harrison) with the continued development of LOC’s global marine warranty surveying activities across its 33 offices.

McGurran’s particular expertise is in marine casualty investigations including groundings, machinery damage, collisions, total losses, sinkings and offshore asset damage.

Andrew Squire, group chief executive, said: “LOC’s growth over recent years has expanded our geographical reach as well as our capabilities. Last year we embarked on a programme of internal restructuring to ensure that we are optimally positioned to deliver the best possible service to our customers. These key new appointments are a continuation of that process.
