Markel appoints European claims manager
Specialist insurer, Markel International, has appointed Mike Richardson as European retail claims manager.
Previously claims manager for Markel International’s UK retail division, a position he held for ten years, Richardson’s promotion will now see him responsible for all the claims functions of the company’s European retail offices. Prior to this, he held claims positions at Hiscox and Sun Alliance Group.
The claims managers in the Madrid, Stockholm and Rotterdam offices will be reporting to Richardson, who will also be responsible for the management of claims from Markel International’s German office. He will continue to head up the UK retail claims team.
“Through the management of his claims team in Leeds, Mike has showed that he has the right level of knowledge and skills to support the teams in ensuring consistency, high standards and commercialism across all our European claims services,” said Hannah Purves, claims director.
